433MHz RF transmitter and receiver module — XD-FST / XD-RF-5V, 20–200m range, Arduino compatible
This 433MHz RF transmitter and receiver module pair (XD-FST transmitter + XD-RF-5V receiver) provides a simple and low-cost solution for adding wireless communication to Arduino, ESP32, STM32, and other microcontroller projects. Operating in the licence-free 433.92MHz ISM band, the pair supports AM modulation with a data rate of up to 4KB/s and a transmission range of 20 to 200 metres depending on supply voltage and antenna configuration.
The receiver operates from 5V DC and features high sensitivity of −105dBm, while the transmitter accepts a wide supply range of 3.5V to 12V — making it compatible with both 3.3V and 5V microcontroller systems. Commonly used with the VirtualWire or RadioHead library on Arduino for simple one-way wireless data transmission.
Receiver Module Specifications (XD-RF-5V):

- Dimensions: 30 × 14 × 7mm
Transmitter Module Specifications (XD-FST):
- Model: XD-FST
- Operating voltage: 3.5V – 12V
- Operating mode: AM
- Transfer rate: 4KB/s
- Transmitting power: 10mW
- Transmitting frequency: 433MHz

- Pinout (left → right): DATA — VCC — GND
Key Features:
- 433.92MHz ISM band — licence-free operation in Pakistan and most countries
- 20–200m range — range improves significantly with a simple wire antenna (17cm for 433MHz)
- Wide transmitter supply range (3.5V–12V) — higher voltage = longer range
- −105dBm receiver sensitivity — good reception in typical indoor environments
- Arduino library compatible — works with VirtualWire and RadioHead libraries out of the box
- Low cost, no pairing required — ideal for simple one-way wireless control
Applications:
- Arduino wireless remote control projects
- Remote relay on/off switching
- Home automation and remote sensor data transmission
- Wireless door bell and alarm systems
- Remote control for motors, lights, and appliances
- Garage door and gate remote control
- Anti-theft and security system wireless links
Note: For best range, solder a 17.3cm straight wire antenna to the ANT pad on both modules. This module supports one-way (simplex) communication only. For two-way communication, use two pairs or consider an nRF24L01 or LoRa module instead. Use the RadioHead RH_ASK driver for reliable data transmission with Arduino.
