The GY-906 module is based on the Melexis MLX90614 infrared thermometer IC, enabling accurate non-contact temperature measurement without touching the target surface. Simply point it at an object and read the temperature instantly over I2C — perfect for fever detection, industrial monitoring, HVAC systems, and smart home automation projects with Arduino or ESP32.
