RAK3172 LoRa module — STM32WLE5CC, 868/915MHz, UART/SPI/I2C, AT commands, ultra-low power, SMD
The RAK3172 is a compact, ultra-low-power LoRa/LoRaWAN module from RAKwireless, built around the STMicroelectronics STM32WLE5CC SoC — a single-chip solution integrating an Arm Cortex-M4 processor with a sub-GHz radio transceiver. It supports LoRaWAN Class A, B, and C operation and is controlled via a simple AT command interface over UART, making it straightforward to integrate into any microcontroller-based IoT design without requiring deep RF expertise.
Operating in the 863–928MHz frequency range, the RAK3172 covers the EU868, US915, AU915, AS923, IN865, and KR920 LoRaWAN bands, making it suitable for global IoT deployments. Its ultra-low sleep current (approximately 1.69μA) makes it ideal for battery-powered sensor nodes requiring years of operation on a single cell.
