TIP42C Transistor DARLINGTON PNP is a general-purpose transistor available in the TO-220 package. It is manufactured in four different types and their part numbers are TIP42, TIP42A, and TIP42B & TIP42C. The main difference between these parts is their voltage.

TIP42C features the highest load voltage of all. It can be used for any general-purpose switching requirements. It can drive a maximum load of -6A or -6000mA and the maximum load voltage can be -100V.

Additionally, it can also be used for general amplification purposes. The maximum collector dissipation of the transistor is 65 watts due to which it can be used for high-power audio amplification and also in audio amplifier stages.
